Abstract

Society holds the perspective of sex being a private manner, where individuals are not to talk, showcase or look at it in public. I explore the idea of "SEX SELLS" AS A FORM OF EMPOWERMENT FOR WOMEN. In explaining modern culture with influences from media, the effects of a sexualized society, and the excessive use of social media “selfies,” a new era of feminism enables self-expression through sex. Women today are active, desiring subjects who choose to present themselves as sexually liberated individuals.

I am presenting a CONTROVERSIAL PERSPECTIVE ON TABOO ADVERTISING IN WHICH FEMALES EMBRACE OBJECTIFICATION, THROUGH THEIR ABILITY TO CHOOSE SEXUAL EMPOWERMENT OVER SEXUAL COMMODIFICATION.

CREATIVE

A prominent view is always accepted by society but THROUGH AN INTERACTIVE APP THE AUDIENCE LEARNS THE DIFFERENT SIDES OF FEMALE EMPOWERMENT through the concept of sexual objectification in advertising, thus adapting to female sexual empowerment. Afterwards they are to decide HOW FAR IS TOO FAR? in sexually objectifying advertisements or should women look at it as sexual empowerment?

CONCLUSION 

Furthermore, the famous saying “sex sells,” is true! SEX IS INCREASINGLY BECOMING MORE MAINSTREAM and normalized by society every year. Whether it is exhibiting one’s self through social media or seen in a sexual taboo advertisement, FEMALES IN TODAY'S SOCIETY ARE ACCEPTING THE IDEA THAT WE SHOULD NOT BE ASHAMED OF OUR SEXUALITY BUT EMBRACE IT. Furthermore, women look empowered when they express bodily control and have the ability to convey freedom of expression. However, it is deemed by consumers too far when women are seen as sexual objects, powerless and lack control of their body. Therefore, as a society, sexual taboo advertising says that WOMEN OF MODERN SOCIETY ARE LIBERATED BY THEIR SEXUALITY, THEY DO NOT SEEK THE APPROVAL OF MEN BUT DO IT FOR THEIR OWN SATISFACTION.
